Only 86.5mm long and starting at the ultra wide-angle 20mm and covering up to 40mm in the standard focal range, the new everyday zoom made for Sony E-mount is the smallest and lightest in its class. The 20-40mm delivers beautiful images across the entire zoom range an has an optical construction of 12 elements in 11 groups. With four LD (Low Dispersion), two GM (Glass Molded Aspherical) and one Hybrid Aspherical lens elements, it boasts an incredible image quality corner to corner.
A great aperture of F/2.8 with nine aperture blades together with the optical construction provides a extra soft and creamy background blur and it´s easy to separate your subject from the background. The lens also provides exceptional close-range shooting capability with a MOD (Minimum Object Distance) of just 0.17m.
Focus is powered by Tamrons VXD AF linear focus motor that provides fast and high-precision autofocus with excellent focus tracking of moving objects so that you never miss those important moments.
